FREDDIE FOXXX – CAN I GET A BREAK?!?

Bumpy Knucks unearths the full mixed version of this song from 2006 that comes just in time as the current climate between black folks and the police is as uneasy as ever.

Thought it was time to dig back into the archives and pull something that was fitting to the emotion of the people. The subject matter never changes in these types of songs until the condition changes in our neighborhoods across the world, even then it will be a historic memory in our lives reflected in songs forever. Sometimes the frustration of injustice just grabs you by the heart and squeezes and you just want to scream “CAN I GET A BREAK?!?!? Where are the leaders that want to really help and not just line their pockets? Let’s not destroy our own communities but stand strong and protect the seniors and babies. Enjoy.

Ras Kass continues to prove why he’s one of the most underrated lyricists in hip hop with “So O.G.” that finds the Carson emcee spitting over some smooth production.

DE LA SOUL FEAT. NAS – GOD IT

Lord have mercy. Nasty Nas pops in for a couple of words on a track that will not be making De La Soul’s Kickstarter funded album. If this is an appetizer, we can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeve with this album.
