RUN THE JEWELS FEAT. PHARRELL WILLIAMS & ZACK DE LA ROCHA – JU$T [LYRIC VIDEO]

Stop-motion animation is front and center in Run The Jewels latest video for “Ju$t” that features Pharrell Williams and Zack de la Rocha.

Visual artist Winston Hacking took charge on the lyric video and had this to say:

“I worked closely with Run The Jewels to create a satirical time-capsule of 2020 thus far, capturing the sentiment of their song using collage animation. Drawing on the influence of Public Enemy’s classic ‘Shut ‘Em Down’ video, we combined cut up images from contemporary and historical events into a psychedelic protest vignette, a visual f**k you to systemic racism.”

RUN THE JEWELS FEAT. GREG NICE & DJ PREMIER – OHH LA LA [VIDEO]

A few weeks before the coronavirus pandemic shut down America, Killer Mike, El-P, Greg Nice and DJ Premier held the ultimate block party for the “Ooh La La” video from RTJ4.

“We shot this video only a few weeks before the pandemic hit with no clue as to what the future held. the fact that we got the chance to do it is damn near miraculous in hindsight. in conceptualizing the video with our friends Brian and Vanessa Beletic we imagined the world on the day that the age old struggle of class was finally over. a day that humanity, empathy and community were victorious over the forces that would separate us based on arbitrary systems created by man. this video is a fantasy of waking up on a day that there is no monetary system, no dividing line, no false construct to tell our fellow man that they are less or more than anyone else. not that people are without but that the whole meaning of money has vanished. that we have somehow solved our self-created caste system and can now start fresh with love, hope and celebration. its a dream of humanity’s V-DAY… and the party we know would pop off.

Love, RTJ”

After serving up “Yankee & The Brave,” El-P and Killer Mike keep things chugging along on the road to Run The Jewels 4 with “Ooh La La” featuring Greg Nice and DJ Premier.

“There’s not a lot of classic undermined golden age material that hasn’t been turned into a jam… and I’ve been plotting on this for probably the last three albums,” El-P told Apple Music about sampling Gang Starr’s “DWYCK” on the song. “We don’t intentionally do old school music… But our influences and who we are come from an era that is very real.”

RUN THE JEWELS – YANKEE AND THE BRAVE

In this time of self-quarantine, people are finding ways to stay busy and entertain. The dynamic duo of El P and Killer Mike took to Instagram Live recently to ease the pain of being stuck at home by playing a song from the upcoming Run The Jewels 4 album. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t play clearly so the duo decided to drop the official audio for “Yankee and the Brave” for your listening pleasure. Enjoy.
