DJ PREMIER – SO WASSUP EPISODE 17 (MOBB DEEP’S PEER PRESSURE)

Before there was a “Shook Ones Pt. 2,” Havoc and Prodigy took us to Juvenile Hell as Mobb Deep. On that album was a hidden gem that only true Mobb Deep fans know about and that’s the DJ Premier produced “Peer Pressure.” Did you know that this was originally a remix of a Large Professor production? How did this all come together? Allow the legendary producer to tell you a story.

MOBB DEEP – COP HELL (PRODUCED BY DJ PREMIER)

And now, words from DJ Premier:

THIS SONG WAS PULLED FROM THE “JUVENILE HELL” LP AFTER THE WHOLE ICE-T “COP KILLER” SONG WAS SHOCKING THE WORLD SO MOBB DEEP’s LABEL 4TH & B’WAY REMOVED IT AS WELL…

SOME COPIES LEAKED BUT MOST DJ’s DON’T HAVE IT.

ME, PRODIGY AND HAVOC GOT PULLED OVER BY THE COPS IN 1993 AND THEY WERE ON SOME FOUL SHIT BUT WE WERE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITHOUT THEM FINDING OUT HOW DIRTY THE CAR WAS BACK THEN…

SO WE WROTE THIS SONG ABOUT IT…

HERE IT IS UNCUT…

WE ARE GONNA MISS YOU PRODIGY…(R.I.P.)

CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY…

THA JOINT: COP HELL

THA GROUP: MOBB DEEP

THA PRODUCER: DJ PREMIER
