COMBAT JACK PASSES AWAY

It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that Reggie “Combat Jack” Osse has passed away at 48 due to complications from colon cancer.

Newer heads may know Combat Jack from his podcast “The Combat Jack Show” that has pioneered hip hop podcasting and featured a who’s who of guests as well as a history lesson for those who got caught up in some of the amazing stories on the show. The old heads may remember Combat Jack from his days of being an attorney for some of hip hop’s finest, which includes Jay Z, Damon Dash, DJ Clark Kent, Nice & Smooth, Capone-N-Noreaga, Deric “D. Dot” Angelettie, Ski Beatz and others. He also spent time as the managing editor of The Source.

Combat Jack announced to the world that he had colon cancer in October and it rapidly accelerated until he succumbed to the disease today (December 20th). As a hip hop visionary, he will sorely be missed. But for those of us who have met him over the years, everyone will remember Combat Jack as one of the most giving people in the industry.

He will sorely be missed.

9TH WONDER SPEAKS ON LITTLE BROTHER, JAY Z & RAPSODY ON ‘THE COMBAT JACK SHOW’

9th Wonder hits The Combat Jack Show and gives us one hell of an interview.

Live from Atlanta, at the tenth anniversary of the #A3c Music Festival, we finally caught up with producer and Harvard scholar 9th Wonder where he share his incredible story about leading a scene in North Carolina with the incredible Little Brother crew to not giving JAY Z a track he had for his own group. The breakup with Phonte and Big Pooh, making hits for Destiny’s Child and why he’s going so hard for his Jamla Records premier artist Rapsody, why he really wants to collaborate with Rich Homie Quan and of course, his journey in becoming a professor at Harvard University. This was truly an honor building with 9th and I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
