DJ PREMIER INSTAGRAMS THE CLOSING OF D&D STUDIOS

Sadly, the legendary space known as D&D Studios has come to an end. DJ Premier captured the entire process of tearing down the studio piece by piece on his Instagram.

Don’t fret though, Premier is moving into Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, NY to continue laying down his work behind the boards. Check it out below.

Salute D & D Studios Legacy !!! #premierwuzhere #DaveAndDoug

    Preem,

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to say you are the ultimate producer in hip hop. The way you take a sample from an original recording and finesse it better than the actual song is pure genius. Brother, you have a well rounded ear for music. God bless and keep sampling. Hi, I’m a reporter with DNAinfo.com covering Midtown. I would like to cover what happened with the studio. As I understand you are getting pushed out to make way for luxury condos? Please get in touch if you would like, 646-397-1795.

    Thank you very much,
    R

NYC is wack man… First 5 pointz then D&D? That place should be on one of those tours of NY or some shit. Throw on some headphones and rock to some gang starr, duck down booming out your headphones. I know preem tried to hold it down for a while but rents out of control when u can work from home.

I interned for a short period there in the 90’s. I use to hang out in the cable cupboard and listen to
Primo making Gang Starr, All City and MOP tracks – in-between answering the phone of course.. Beatminerz were down the other studio room cranking out classic after classic. You never heard a bad track coming from D&D..

    Paul.
