Nas and Erykah Badu join forces for “This Bitter Land” off of the soundtrack of “The Land” (which Nas executive produced) about four teenagers from Cleveland who are willing to do anything to change their lives for the better. The song finds Nas rhyming over violins while Ms. Badu channels the energy of Nina Simone for this excellent song. Check out the movie On Demand on July 29th.
Once upon a time, Joe Budden had a little feud with the entire Wu Tang Clan over his seeding on a Vibe emcee tournament bracket. The feud culminated at the 2009 Rock The Bells festival where a member of Raekwon’s entourage punched Budden in the face. Meanwhile, Mickey Factz happened to be in the dressing room but skipped out before it got real. Fast forward to 2016 and Budden being in the midst of a never ending barrage of Drake disses. Factz has voiced his opinion on social media and Budden didn’t take too kindly to it. So now, Factz fires his own diss at Budden titled “Eye Witness” produced by Nottz. Will Budden respond?
When Dave East isn’t demolishing someone else’s beat, his beating up one of his own. “Percocets” find East rocking over a Rico Suave production and, per the usual, it’s dope.
Remy Ma continues her rampage and takes on A Boogie’s “My Shit” as a nice little reminder that she’s back.
To celebrate the 15 year anniversary of Cormega’s The Realness, DJ Skizz remixes “R U My Nigga?” to breathe new life into the track.
Since Drake hasn’t really responded with anything worth talking about, Joe Budden gives him another jab just to see if he’s paying attention with “Just Because.”
DJ Khaled teased that Kendrick Lamar was going to have one of the most talked about verses after he dropped “Holy Key” alongside Big Sean. The last time Sean and K Dot were on a song together we got “Control.” This is a little different angle but the result is as dope as one would expect.
