Ab-Soul’s Herbert may not be getting enough love because it’s an absolutely stellar piece of work from the TDE emcee. To send a reminder to those who slept, Soulo drops the video for the DJ Premier produced “Gotta Rap.”

It’s been a good minute since we last heard an album from Ab-Soul. Five years to be exact. But the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper has made his triumphant return and it appears that a new album is on the way. He brings clarity on his whereabouts and shares some thoughts on his life to this point on “Do Better.”

It’s been a minute since we last heard from Ab Soul so it is good to see him make his presence felt alongside fellow TDE member Reason and Cali’s Boogie on “Trapped In.” From Reason’s upcoming album dropping soon.
“The video is about getting caught up in the system, of a cycle we create for ourselves,” Reason told Lyrical Lemonade. “You’ll notice that everyone is all caught up in their own little pockets and me, ab, and boogie are the only ones going around saying what’s up to the robbers and the drug dealers cause we see what’s going on. You’ll see kids playing basketball cause they think it’s their only way out but then they see a robbery or the murder and now they’re caught in that same cycle.”
Top Dawg Entertainment will take the entire crew on the road (outside of Isaiah Rashad, who is finishing his album) for what is called The Championship Tour.
