As June 28th draws near, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are in full promo mode in preparation of their joint album Bandana. The duo team up with Anderson .Paak for “Giannis.”

Remember that time that Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar were in the studio together and rhyming over Madlib beats? Out of that came “No More Parties In LA” off of Kanye’s The Life Of Pablo album. But there was more. Today, we get a session where the duo is just kicking rhymes over Madlib beats. 100% freestyle.
The trio of MED, Blu and Madlib surprise us with an EP titled “The Turn Up.” Following in the footsteps of 2015’s Bad Neighbor, we get five new songs with some a capellas and instrumentals. Certainly worth your time.
With the world waiting on Nas’ new album, an individual by the name of DBegun blended Nas vocals with the instrumentals from Quasimoto’s The Unseen to create the Nasimoto blend album. 21 tracks of Nas and Madlib goodness only leads us to wonder what a real album from these two would sound like.
With Bad Neighbor still going strong, Blu, MED and Madlib get some lyrical assistance from Oh No on “The Turn Up.”
Back in 2011, Madlib and MF Doom dropped “Avalanche” on the Stones Throw podcast that had hip hop heads searching all over for the full song. Five years later, the full song has surfaced and is available for purchase on 7″ vinyl with a 8″ figurine over at Rappcats. But you can enjoy the song now.
