In celebration of Nas’ 20th Anniversary of his debut album “Illmatic”, we got to hang out with him and record his accapella version of “The World is Yours” using our Music Video Recorders from Sony (http: //www.sony.net/mvr). He nailed it, obviously. Also known as HDR-MV1, or MVR for short, these bad boys are made so the average Joe can shoot a high-quality music video with relative ease. It doesn’t hurt that they record with CD-quality audio (or the always Internet-friendly AAC format) and are accompanied with a 120° wide-angle lens. Not bad. To watch some more music videos shot with these cameras, head over to the link below and tune in to “Most Valid Reason”, an original music video series showcasing a plethora of fine works created using the MVR. #SonyMVR #YourAudienceAwaits

No word when or where the full song will drop.

Nas appeared on PBS’ “Finding Your Roots” with Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and had the opportunity to trace his family origins back to the 1800s. Watch what happens when he finds out who purchased his great, great, great, grandmother Pocahantas Little.
“We introduced Nas to five generations – we’ve never been able to do this before for any African American – five generations of his enslaved ancestors,” host Henry Louis Gates told the TCA in July. “And we showed him an extremely rare document, something we’d never seen before, an actual 1859 bill of sale for his 3rd great grandmother whose name was Pocahontas Little.”
In celebration of the release of the “Time Is Illmatic” documentary, Nas hit “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” for a special performance of the classic “NY State Of Mind” with The Legendary Roots Crew providing the music. You’ll have to fast forward to the 8-minute mark to catch the performance.
