The official video for “Don’t Close Your Eyes (Ashamed)” by KXNG CROOKED of Slaughterhouse and Truth Ali produced by Jonathan Hay and Ajami. This is part one of a five part video series that has been filmed in three cities: Louisville, Kentucky, Atlanta, Georgia and Chicago, Illinois.
Producer Jonathan Hay had the idea to recreate the late Keith Whitley’s country classic from 1988 with the same title. Tragically, Whitley died from alcohol poisoning in 1989. In KXNG CROOKED’s verse he talks about alcoholism and getting sober. The video was shot in Kentucky, where the late country star once lived. The song also tackles child abuse, suicide and adoption.
“Don’t Close Your Eyes (Ashamed)” is from the forthcoming Urban Hitchcock LP that features Cyhi The Prynce, Chino XL, Canibus, Professor Griff from Public Enemy, Royce da 5’9, Skyzoo, Planet Asia and more collaborations from KXNG CROOKED. The album is dropping on October 5th.
Kxng Crooked joins his Slaughterhouse brethren Royce da 5’9 on the sequel “Lost In Paradise 2” by Truth Ali. The song is produced by Ryan Marrone who is known for his work with Nicki Minaj.
Truth Ali is currently working on his debut album Trail Of Tears.
