For the 43rd episode of DJ Premier’s “So Wassup?” Preemo tells the story behind how Nas’ “I Gave You Power” from his sophomore album It Was Written. Originally titled “Gun,” Nas had the concept but wasn’t sure how he would execute it. DJ Premier started with a drum pattern and the duo began to build.
