What would a week be without a new video or song from Dave East? The Harlem rapper teams up with BlocBoy JB for “No Stylist” from the “Karma 2” mixtape.
Millyz and Statik Selektah will drop their collaborative album Saints & Sinners on August 24th. The first dose from the project comes in the form of the Jadakiss assisted “Let It Go.”
On October 5th, Ghostface Killah will reveal The Lost Tapes, which is a collection of unheard and unreleased songs and remixes. First up is “Saigon Velour” produced by Big Ghost and featuring Snoop Dogg, E-40 and LA the Darkman.
Speaking of Kanye West, the controversial rapper who can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth had DJ Clark Kent unleash a song that didn’t make the cut for Ye. “XTSY” is Kanye doing his “scoopity poop” rap but also has a line about having four sisters-in-laws that he’d consider smashing. Yeah, it’s that type of party.
Kanye West is the target for assassination in the video for MF Doom and DJ Muggs “Assassination Day (Trust No One).” The animated video finds a shadowy figure — a “Soul Assassin,” if you will — making his way to a building amidst a sea of people with “Slavery was a choice” and “Keep America great 2020” signs. The target for the assassination attempt is none other than staunch Trump supporter, Kanye West. After the attempt proves to be successful, both Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are seen laughing at the fallen West.
Wu-Tang’s “Pearl Harbor” was one of the highlights from the Wu’s 2017 album The Saga Continues. But now the song that featured Sean Price, Method Man, Ghostface Killah gets an update with Pharoahe Monch and Tek from Smif N Wessun adding verses to the Mathematics track.
Another week, another freestyle. Chris Rivers jacks another beat. However, it’s not one you’ll immediately recognize as Rivers takes on Wendy’s response to Hamburger Helper titled “Holding It Down.” Yes, that’s a fast food chain dissing the boxed meal.
Method Man delivers straight bars on “Grand Prix” as his new project Meth Lab II: The Lithium draws near.
It’s hard to believe that it has been three years since the passing of Sean Price. But the soul of the late rapper continues to live through hip hop as a new video for “Apartheid” featuring Buckshot and Steele has been released to celebrate his memory.
