For this week’s D.I.T.C. installment, Andre The Giant flexes on Buckwild production with the vicious “Chain Gang.”
DJ Premier, Royce Da 5’9″ and Logic get animated for the lyric video for “Mode.” It’s pretty much like watching a hip hop version of South Park. Be sure to pre-order the new solo project from Royce Da 5’9″ Layers dropping on April 15.
Killer Mike and El-P continue to try new and innovative concepts. This time, the duo connect with the NY Times for a Virtual Reality video for “Crown.” If you have a VR device, you can download it here but if not, you can get to experience a little bit of it in this 40 second clip.
Just Blaze has a ton of exclusives in his vault and the producer/DJ took to Q-Tip’s Beats 1 Radio show, Abstract Radio, to unleash a plethora of them during a one hour DJ set. You’ll get to hear Jay Electronica’s “Exhibit G,” an unreleased Slaughterhouse instrumental, a Blueprint 3 instrumental that wasn’t used and so much more.
More verses from Sean Price prove that the emcee was one of the hardest working out there. This time we get to hear Sean alongside Planet Asia on “The Festival.”
Royce 5’9″ stopped by the Complex offices to sit down with our Editor-in-Chief Noah Callahan-Bever to speak in-depth on his career, getting sober, and more. The inimitable Detroit rapper is currently gearing up to release his next album, Layers, next month, and spoke on the journey towards his new album, which includes his decision to get sober back in 2012. “I just woke up one day and I felt like I was up,” he says. “I made the necessary phone calls. I called Marshall [Mathers] and said, ‘Yo, I’m stopping drinking.'”

In honor of the passing of The Notorious B.I.G. on March 9, DJ MistEr Cee dropped a mix of Biggie vocals over some of today’s beats. It’s interesting to listen to how these sound. Obviously, some are better than others but it’s definitely worth the listen. #RIPBIG
