SKYZOO – ST. JAMES LIQUORS

On what would have been The Notorious B.I.G.’s 49th birthday, Skyzoo releases “St. James Liquors” from his forthcoming album All The Brilliant Things that drops on June 11th.

“With ‘St. James Liquors,’ it’s a story of what my neighborhood used to be like, and it uses 13 year old me as a catalyst of these two types of individuals that my friends and I were in awe of: the guys outside and the musicians who represented them,” Skyzoo says of the song. “As a young kid writing rhymes and growing up a block away from the late great Notorious BIG, inspiration was easy to get, as it was literally footsteps away. The tug of war of the guys on the block who were stars and the guys who represented them who were stars, and the irony of them going hand in hand, was something that had my head on a swivel as a teenager. This song breaks down the dichotomy of the two.”

RANSOM & LLOYD BANKS – GLUTTONY

Did somebody say they wanted bars from a pair of streetwise emcees? Lloyd Banks and Ransom team up to give you just that with “Gluttony.” No word on whether we’ll get more from these two but Lloyd Banks appears to have a new project on the way.

MF DOOM & CZARFACE – DOOM UNTO OTHERS

Prior to MF DOOM’s passing, the enigmatic emcee teamed up with the trio of Inspectah Deck and 7L & Esoteric for the CZARFACE Meets Metal Face album. Although the metal-faced emcee is no longer with us, he’s left behind a follow-up project with CZARFACE titled Super What?

If, for some reason, you’re unsure of the album’s dopeness, check out the track “DOOM Unto Others” and then dive until the entire project.

MADGIC (LOGIC & MADLIB) – MARS ONLY PT. 3

Logic said he retired last year but if there’s any reason to come back to the rap game, it’s Madlib. And it appears that the duo are heading toward a collaborative album as “MadGic” (Magic). Logic gets things rolling with his flip of “Rappcats,” which was from Madlib’s Quasimoto project. Check out “Mars Only Pt. 3” and stay tuned.
