R.A. The Rugged Man drops another cut from his All My Heroes Are Dead album with “Dragon Fire” that features Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa and Kool G Rap. Straight venom.
It’s been five years since United Kingdom emcees The Four Owls connected with DJ Premier on “Think Twice.” BVA, Fliptrix, Verb T. and Leaf Dog reunite with Preemo for “100%.”
The Yonkers trio celebrate their time as a unit with “Loyalty & Love” as Styles P, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch unite for what appears to be another album.
Jon Connor gets a flip of a Souls of Mischief classic for “Infinity” as he prepares for his next project.
After sharing his “Too Lost” collaboration with DJ Premier, Bishop Nehru drops another cut from his Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts album dropping on May 8th with “EMPEROR.”
“‘EMPEROR’ was just a track that I was making specifically to have fun at lives shows,” Bishop said. “I wanted to be able to have an energetic song everyone could just feel free to. When I was in the process of creating it the main thing I was thinking about after I finished the beat was ‘Wow this could be amazing if performed in a stadium’.”
With Conway and Alchemists’ Lulu dropping on March 30, the emcee and producer tandem team up with TDE’s SchoolBoy Q for “Shoot Sideways” off the project. Although Q is only here for the hook, it’s a vicious slow burner that preps you for what’s to come.
After serving up “Yankee & The Brave,” El-P and Killer Mike keep things chugging along on the road to Run The Jewels 4 with “Ooh La La” featuring Greg Nice and DJ Premier.
“There’s not a lot of classic undermined golden age material that hasn’t been turned into a jam… and I’ve been plotting on this for probably the last three albums,” El-P told Apple Music about sampling Gang Starr’s “DWYCK” on the song. “We don’t intentionally do old school music… But our influences and who we are come from an era that is very real.”
R.A. The Rugged Man delivers a feel-good vibe alongside Slug and Eamon on “Golden Oldies.” The two emcees reminisce while Eamon provides the hook on this cut from All My Heroes Are Dead.
In this time of self-quarantine, people are finding ways to stay busy and entertain. The dynamic duo of El P and Killer Mike took to Instagram Live recently to ease the pain of being stuck at home by playing a song from the upcoming Run The Jewels 4 album. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t play clearly so the duo decided to drop the official audio for “Yankee and the Brave” for your listening pleasure. Enjoy.
The Jamo Gang are back for another run at it. Ras Kass, El Gant and J57 are preparing to drop their new album Walking With Lions on April 10 and will feature the likes of Slug, DJ Premier, Sick Jacken, Slaine, Tiffany Topol and Sid Wilson of Slipknot. But here’s the first single “Belushi & Aykroyd.”
