J. COLE – INTERLUDE

It’s the return of Jermaine Cole. The North Carolina emcee announced that he’ll drop The Off Season on May 14 and warms up with “Interlude” to hold us down for the next few days.

MF DOOM & CZARFACE – DOOM UNTO OTHERS

Prior to MF DOOM’s passing, the enigmatic emcee teamed up with the trio of Inspectah Deck and 7L & Esoteric for the CZARFACE Meets Metal Face album. Although the metal-faced emcee is no longer with us, he’s left behind a follow-up project with CZARFACE titled Super What?

If, for some reason, you’re unsure of the album’s dopeness, check out the track “DOOM Unto Others” and then dive until the entire project.

SKYZOO – BED-STUY IS BURNING [VIDEO]

Skyzoo will drop his latest audio venture All the Brilliant Things on June 11th and blesses us with the first video from the album. “Bed-Stuy is Burning” takes a cold hard look at gentrification in Brooklyn.

“Intrigued by the title, I copped it and afterwards I was inspired to write sort of a call and response, speaking on the other side of the fence from what Brian saw being white and living in the Stuy with his family,” said Skyzoo. “As someone who was in the neighborhood before the characters in his story moved in, I wrote the song to be the other end of the spectrum.”

CORDAE FEAT. Q-TIP – MORE LIFE [VIDEO]

Cordae has been relatively silent over the past year and decided to give us a four-song EP titled Just Until to hold us until the next album drops. Cordae drops a video for “More Life” featuring Q-Tip as he visits his old middle school, neighborhood and the college that he dropped out of.

MADGIC (LOGIC & MADLIB) – MARS ONLY PT. 3

Logic said he retired last year but if there’s any reason to come back to the rap game, it’s Madlib. And it appears that the duo are heading toward a collaborative album as “MadGic” (Magic). Logic gets things rolling with his flip of “Rappcats,” which was from Madlib’s Quasimoto project. Check out “Mars Only Pt. 3” and stay tuned.
